A federal appeals court has upheld the dismissal of the lawsuit by MGM Resorts International challenging the Connecticut law that allowed the Mohegan and Mashantucket Pequot tribes to partner on a third Connecticut casino. Groton's Pleasant Valley Elementary School, which was built in the 1950s, closed its doors for good after promoting its last 5th-grade class. The closure was a result of the town's ongoing budget crisis.
There will be racing afterall at the Waterford Speedbowl. We get an update on that story and we hear about the grand opening of an Aldi grocery store in Waterford.

President Donald Trump was in the New London area as he delivered the keynote address to the Coast Guard Academy Class of 2017. We talked to the graduates and their families as they embark on the next part of their military lives. We also talked to protesters and supporters of President Trump as they gathered at McKinnley Park, not far from the academy gates.

After four grueling years of training to become a Coast Guard officer, the Coast Guard Academy’s Class of 2017 will graduate on Wednesday. Fifteen Connecticut residents are among this year’s graduates, including a handful of local cadets.
The Day will be covering the Coast Guard Academy graduation. We'll have reporters on the campus to talk to families and to report on President Trump's keynote address. We'll also have reporters outside the campus to follow the various planned demonstrations and protests.
